EYBA Spring League TEAM Registration is NOW OPEN (Closes March 6th)

SPRING LEAGUE GENERAL INFORMATION:

Southeast Swarm Basketball does NOT run its own spring league but you can register for EYBA's spring league. It is not the same individual registration process as in the Fall / Winter season. YOU MUST REGISTER AS A TEAM.

It is not recommended that new players join for the first time during the spring season. It's best to join in the fall when teams are set up with more focus on players playing with players with similar skill sets and experience.

This is mainly due to the fact that there are way less teams that play in the spring, so less divisions can be made out of the teams that join up.

With an (8) week, (10) game season there is less chance of ensuring teams play against teams with similar skills and experience.

Sometimes there are extreme blow outs in spring league and new players can become frustrated.

In winter season, there are many more teams in each age group/division with more time involved to place teams appropriately and include two seeding rounds to ensure teams play where they fit as a team.

For new players, the winter season tends to be the best case scenario for their own individual success, regardless of age.

DIVISIONS FOR 2023:

UNDER 11 BOYS AND GIRLS: BORN 2012 or later (Play 5v5 on 10' hoops)

UNDER 13 BOYS AND GIRLS: BORN 2010-2011

UNDER 15 BOYS AND GIRLS: BORN 2008-2009

UNDER 18 BOYS AND GIRLS: BORN 2005 - 2007

NOTE FOR ALL DIVISIONS: PLAYERS CAN PLAY UP AN AGE GROUP (UNDER-AGED) BUT NO OVER-AGED PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE IN ANY DIVISION.

WEDNESDAYS & SATURDAYS - U11 BOYS, U11 GIRLS, U18 BOYS

Guaranteed 10 games

You MUST register as a team. Coaches can register their teams with EYBA (link below) & must pay the team fee of $1750. NO REFUNDS PROVIDED AFTER MARCH 6/23.

Spring League Play Begins: April 1, 2023

Spring League Play Ends: Approximate June 1st, 2023

Changes for 2022 Season:

No Practice slots will be issued
Games will be played at The Saville Centre, Legacy Athletics and The EYBA Centre and the occasional school gym

Licensed EBOA officials

Registration may be limited based on the gym time available.

No restrictions on how to form teams
There may be a Seeding Round depending on Team numbers
Teams accepted from any combination of communities, schools, friends etc.
Club Teams are welcome, we encourage highly competitive teams to register for our newly affiliated City of Champions League
Rosters are consider final by April 1st or upon your last roster submission, any additions or subtractions need to be approved by the league and will only be accepted until April 28th, 2023. Failure to adhere to roster requirements may result in forfeits and/or removal from league play with no refund.

Fees: $1750/team All fees include referee and game costs

Full Payment is required by March 6th , teams that fail to pay by this date will not be scheduled and teams that are waitlisted will be given opportunity to join and pay.
There will be no refund for teams that withdraw after March 6th

Team Registration Only- No Individual Registration

Teams are responsible for their own jerseys, balls and equipment.

Registration Caps (Max # of teams) - We may take more teams in a respected division if there is more demand for one and less for another

To Register a Team:

1) Visit the EYBA Registration Site: http://eyba.rampregistrations.com

2) Login to your RAMP account (or sign up for one if it is your first time) and then click Tournament Registration (Please note this is for League Play although its listed as a Tournament)

3) Follow the steps of the registration, please note that Roster Information is not required on RAMP (You may leave this Blank)

4) Chose Payment Type and Submit Registration

5) You MUST fill out and submit this ROSTER FORM to info@edmontonyouthbasketball.com after successful registration

6) Payment is required by March 6th, teams that fail to pay by this date will not be scheduled and teams that are waitlisted will be given opportunity to join and pay

Playoff Weekend - May 27th. Please be aware that all teams should expect to play playoff games this weekend.

Please note that Any Team that forfeits or fails to show up for a playoff game, may be subject to a fine, up to a maximum of $500.00

Games may be streamed on BallerTV and the privacy of our members is always protected via EYBA's Media Policy

Please note that as we are ABA Sanctioned, the $17 ABA membership fee is charged from ABA to anyone who signs up for one of our programs. This is something that both staff and players are required to have and covers their membership and insurance for the ABA Membership Season (which runs from September to August each year). If you have already paid this, it's not supposed to show up. But if it does, please contact ABA to explain where you already paid for this years membership and they'll be able to confirm that for you.
